Triple win for Martina Satkova (CZE) in Pau

Wildwater Canoeing season concluded in Pau, France, with the last two World Cup races in 2016. The competition in Pau attracted many top level paddlers who came to France to see the venue which will host wildwater canoeing World Championships next year. The course proved to be very challenging. Many paddlers crashed their boats which needed to be repaired or were damaged to the extent the athletes had to borrow someone else’s boat in order to practice and start at the race. Unfortunately not only boats were the victims of this difficult course. There were athletes, including reigning wildwater sprint world champion Hannah Brown (GBR), who will not carry nice memories from France because they got injured during the race or trainings.
