Meet the British Canoe Slalom Olympic team

Majority of the top canoe slalom athletes is now in Rio de Janeiro practising on a newly constructed slalom course in the Deodoro Sports Complex which will host numerous sporting events of the 2016 Olympic Games, including canoe slalom competition. Aquece Rio international canoe slalom test event will take place between November 26 – 29, 2015, nine months prior to the Rio 2016. British canoe slalom team is one of the first who already announced athletes who will represent their country in Brazil next year.

Patricija Štrukelj (1965-2015)

It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our friend and co-worker Patricija Štrukelj. She has been a dedicated canoeing worker - she was an organiser of canoeing events and above all dedicated and tireless judge.
As international judge she officiated at numerous European Championships.
We would like to express our sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Rest in peace, Patricija.

ECA Board meeting, meeting with the organisers and meeting with the national federations, Ljubljana (SLO), November 6-8, 2015

ECA Board of Directors has met in Ljubljana (SLO) to discuss the important matters regarding the future of the canoeing and upcoming seasons. During the Board meeting they have made several decisions.

  • They have discussed the ECA competition calendar for the seasons 2016, 2017 and 2018. They have chosen Prague (CZE) as the organiser of the 2018 European Senior Canoe Slalom Championships.
  • They have talked about the organisation of 2017 EYOF in Györ (HUN).
  • They have approved the proposal to cancel the first boat control at European Canoe Sprint Championships.
  • They have agreed not to include Master events into the official programme of the European Championships, but will allow Master events as unofficial events.
  • Board members have decided to meet next in Augsburg (GER), between March 11 and 13, 2016.

ECA held a meeting in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, November 10, 2015 – European Canoe Association (ECA) organised an ECA Board of Directors meeting as well as the meetings with the representatives of national federations and organisers of the upcoming canoeing events. The meetings were held in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
