Five countries win medals during the first day of nation’s Dragon Boat European Championships

The 2017 ECA Dragon Boat Nations and Clubs European Championships and ECA Dragon Boat European Cup for Masters in Hungary kicked off with 200 metres events in 10-seater boats. With Russia, Hungary, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Romania, Sweden and France entered in the nation’s competition, five nations won medals during the first day of European Championships and European Cup for Masters. Russian boats were the most successful on day one, picking up four gold medals. The competition is not only nation’s competition, but clubs competition as well. Masters also compete this week in Hungary, but their categories count for European Cup and is a non-official event of the European Championships. In addition to five countries – Russia, Hungary, Ukraine, Italy and Germany – that were successful in afternoon’s nation’s races, boats from Poland, Ukraine and Romania picked up medals in club’s part of the competition.

The 2017 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships in Portugal has just ended, but there is no rest for European paddlers. This week Szeged, Hungary, will host the 2017 ECA Dragon Boat Nations and Clubs European Championships and ECA Dragon Boat European Cup for Masters with some well-known names on the start.

The last medals of Canoe Marathon European Championships to Hungary and Spain

The 2017 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships in Ponte de Lima concluded with another round of fantastic racing and celebration of Hungarian and Spanish crews. Renata Csay and Alexandra Barra picked up gold medal in women’s K2 event, Adrian Boros and Laszlo Solti in men’s K2, while Antonio Campos and Jose Sanchez won European Champion title in men’s C2 event.

Renata Csay and Jose Ramalho prolong their winning streak

After two days of racing in junior and U23 categories it was time for senior events of the 2017 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships in Portugal. Local fans went crazy when Jose Ramalho once again won the European Champion title, in women’s K1 event Renata Csay did the same, in men’s C1 it was Marton Kover who picked up the gold medal and in women’s C1 Liudmyla Babak won the race.

Second medal for Nagy, Fekete and Vekassy in Ponte de Lima

Hungarian junior paddlers Viktoria Nagy, Dorina Fekete and Levente Vekassy won their second medals of the 2017 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships in Ponte de Lima during the second competition day. Viktoria Nagy won gold in K2W junior event together with Zsofia Korsos, Dorina Fekete picked up silver in the same event paring with Emese Tanka and Levente Vekassy celebrated his second European Champion title in K2M junior event, this time with Andras Redl. Patryk Gluza (POL) won in men’s C1 U23 event, Heine and Mode (GER) were the best in C2M junior race and Adam Petro (HUN) won in men’s K1 U23.
