Young canoe slalom paddlers showed their skills at Olympic Hopes race

After the canoe sprint Olympic Hopes regatta which was held last month in Bratislava, it is now time for young canoe slalom paddlers to compete at their Olympic Hopes races. This weekend they are competing in this sporting event held in Roudnice nad Labem, Czech Republic. Young competitors from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia,Poland, Croatia, Latvia and Lithuania are competing this weekend.

Spain and Czech Republic excelled on the 1992 Olympic Course

The 1992 Olympic Canoe Slalom Olympic Course in La Seu d’Urgell, Spain, hosted this year’s senior canoe slalom World Championships as well as Olympic Qualification event. Members of the Spanish national team took advantage of the home course, winning six medals during the five competition days. Czech Republic, too, concluded this World Championships with a total of six medals.

Overall winners of Canoe Slalom World Cup are Prskavec, Benus and Fox

After five Canoe Slalom World Cup races that were organised in London – Lee Valley, Bratislava, Ljubljana – Tacen, Markkleeberg and Prague we have the overall winners. Jiri Prskavec (CZE) won in men’s kayak event, Matej Benus (SVK) was the best in men’s C1, while Australian Jessica Fox took titles in both women’s events.

Canoe Slalom World Cup concluded in Prague

Fifth and last canoe slalom World Cup race of the year 2019 was organised in Prague on Vltava River which last year hosted 2018 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships. Czech kayakers were once more unbeatable in men’s kayak, Jiri Prskavec took gold and Vit Prindis silver medal. Matej Benus (SVK) was the best in MC1.
