Bratislava ready for the 2023 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships 19.7.2023

A little less than 300 athletes from 27 European countries will compete this week at the 2023 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, at a very famous course in Čunovo. Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom paddlers fought for the European Champions titles here last in 2018.


It will be an exciting weekend, filled with action over the four competition days. The championships will feature some already established names of canoe slalom, who have medals and experiences from senior level European and World Championships, as well as the best young athletes, future stars of canoe slalom.
 
On the startlist we can find medallists of this year's European Games in Krakow Gabriela Satkova, Tereza Kneblova, Antonie Galuškova, Pau Echaniz and Miquel Trave, than strong Slovak paddlers Zuzana Pankova, Emanuela Luknarova, Sona Stanovska, Samuel Krajči, French Anatole Delassus and Mewen Debliquy, Germans Emily Apel and Paulina Pirro, Italians Xabier Ferazzi, Marta Bertoncelli, Martino Barzon, Lucia Pistoni, Polish paddler Aleksandra Stach, Slovenian Žiga Lin Hočevar, Czech Vojtech Heger, Belgian Gabriel de Coster ... to name just a few.
 
The 2023 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships will be officially opened on Wednesday with an opening ceremony, and the first sets of the medals will be awarded already on Thursday, when the team events will be held in the afternoon. The first competition day will start with heats in kayak events. On Friday, canoe heats are on the programme and the canoe team events as well as kayak cross time trials. On Saturday, the championships will continue with semifinal and final in kayak events, and on Sunday the competition will conclude with canoe semifinals and finals and final phases of kayak cross (quarterfinal, semifinal, final).
