Otillie Robinson – Shaw from Great Britain collected a total of 640.00 points for the top of the scoreboard in women’s senior kayak surface event. Anais O’Donovan (IRL) was second with 560.00 points and Zofia Tula (POL) third with a total of 490.00 points. Lowri Davies, Emma Witherford (both GBR), Nuria Fontane I Maso, Mireia Serres Segarra (both ESP), Aoife Hanrahan (IRL), Denise Liane Rebnegger (AUT) and Marine Izac (FRA) also secured themselves a spot in Friday’s semifinal.
In men’s junior kayak surface Tim Rees from Germany received the highest scores in two runs, and topped the qualification round ranking with a total of 1040.00 points. His teammate Leon Jorel Stoermer was second with an overall score of 1026.67 points, and Toby Marlow from Great Britain was third with 810.00 points.
Unai Silva Fores, Jonc Hurtado Bergueda (both ESP), Paul Ernst (GER), Rory Kearney (IRL), Ben Higson (GBR), Adrien Morel (FRA) and Onni Eronen (FIN) also qualified to the next competition round.
In women’s junior kayak surface competition Merle Hauser from Germany with a combined score of 710.00 points advanced securely to the semifinal. British athlete Jennifer Leal was second with 470.00 points and Aisa Lopez – Arenas from Spain ranked third with 410.00 points. This trio will fight for the final spots with the following athletes who also advanced to the semifinal stage: Iia Vuorenpa (FIN), Nele Barwich, Ida Wellensiek (both GER), Julie Huet (FRA), Leah Hough (IRL), Charlee Aldred (GBR) and Cristina Viladomat (ESP).
Tomorrow, the European Championships continues with semifinals in senior men’s and women’s kayak surface, men’s canoe decked and junior men’s and women’s kayak surface events.
