This will be the first Canoe Polo European Championships to be hosted in Portugal, however this European country already organised the 1998 Canoe Polo World Championships in Aveiro.

 

 

The host city of the 2019 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships will be Coimbra, home of the oldest Portuguese University. The same city hosted last year’s European Universities Games.

 

 

Opening ceremony of the championships will take place on Wednesday, 28^th August, with tournament matches being organised between Thursday, 29^th August, and Sunday, 1^st September. However, the official period of the championships starts on Saturday, 24^th August, when the venue will be open and the first teams are expected to arrive. On 25^th August opening of the accreditation centre is scheduled, and on Tuesday, 27^th August, the opening of scrutineering is planned.

 

 

Tournament matches will be played in four categories – Senior Women and Men, and U21 Women and Men.
