Markkleeberg was supposed to host one of the races in the 2021 ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup races this April, but unfortunately the race was cancelled.
Venue of the 2015 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships in Markkleeberg will not host the third race of the 2021 ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup series on 10th and 11th April due to the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic. The organisers at the moment do not know if the health situation will improve by April and what the possible travel restrictions will be for the athletes from the neighbouring countries wishing to participate at the competition. Also, the priorities of the organisers are the following races: DKV World Championships qualifications and World Cup race.
