Canoe Sprint at the 2019 European Games 4.1.2019

In six months best European canoe sprinters will compete in the second edition of European Games. This year the European Games will be held in Minsk, Belarus, between 21st June and 30th June. The Canoe Sprint part of the Games will be held on Zaslavl Regatta Course between 25th and 27th June 2019.

 


At the games 350 athletes will compete and 16 sets of medals will be awarded to the fastest competitors in Minsk. The length of the regatta course is 2150 metres, its width is 130 metres and its depth is 3 to 3.5 metres. Spectators will be able to follow the competition on the biggest LED screen in Belarus (66m2).
 
The first competition day (25th June) will bring heats in men’s K1 1000 metres event, men’s C1 1000 meters event, women’s K2 500 metres event, men’s K2 1000 metres event and men’s C2 1000 metres event. The races are scheduled for 9:00 AM local time.
 
In the afternoon of the first competition day, starting at 2 PM local time, the second part of the heats will follow in women’s K1 500 metres event, men’s K4 500 metres event, women’s C2 500 metres event and women’s K4 500 metres event. All nine events will also bring semifinals later in the day (after all the heats).
 
On 26th June the first sets of medals will be awarded in men’s K1 1000 metres event, men’s C1 1000 metres event, women’s K2 500 meters, men’s K2 1000 metres and men’s C2 1000 metres events. Finals B in men’s K1 and men’s C1 1000 metres event are scheduled as well. The finals will start at 10 AM local time. Later that day, starting at 2 PM local time, remaining heats and semifinals will be organised in the following events: women’s K1 200 metres, men’s K1 200 metres, men’s C1 200 metres, women’s C1 200 metres and women’s K2 200 metres.
 
The last day of canoeing competitions at European Games will first bring finals in women’s K1 500 metres event (final B and A), men’s K4 500 metres event, women’s C2 500 metres event and women’s K4 500 metres event. The morning part of the competition will start at 10 AM local time. The last part of canoe sprint competitions will start at 2 PM local time. Seven sets of medals will be awarded in the afternoon.
 
First the athletes will start in finals B in women’s K1 200 metres event, men’s K1 200 meters event and women’s C1 200 metres event. Those races will be followed by A finals in the same events as well as with A finals in women’s C1 200 metres event, women’s K2 200 metres event, women’s K1 5000 metres event and men’s K1 5000 metres event.
