Like many other national federations, Canoeing Ireland, too, awarded those who excelled in the year 2023 or made a big impact on canoeing community. It was a successful year as president of the federation Lynda Byron-Byrne stressed out, seeing growth of Canoeing Ireland on and off the water in the previous year.
Ireland's Canoe Slalom team managed to qualify three boats for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Canoeing Ireland hosted international conference on Women in Sport and celebrated medal at international competitions in 2023. A special recognition was given to the community in Ireland who are driving positive change in the sport. In addition to awarding the best athletes in different disciplines, club hero, community impact, team of the year, adventure paddler of the year, lifetime achievement, volunteer of the year awards were also given during the ceremony.
