Canoeing lost João Tomasini Schwertner 17.1.2021

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Mr. João Tomasini Schwertner, long-time president of the Brazilian Canoe Confederation, president of the Pan American Confederation and member of the ICF's Board of Directors, who succumbed to the complications caused by Covid-19.


João Tomasini Schwertner was involved in international canoeing in different roles for over 30 years and in this time our paths have crossed on many occasions in quest to bring canoeing to a higher level.
 
 
European Canoe Association would like to express sincere condolences to João's family and friends and entire Brazilian canoeing community. He will be missed greatly. João, rest in peace.
