German sprint canoeist Carolin Leonhardt decided to end her sporting career after the last season and to focus on new challenges. 32-year-old paddler who won three Olympic medals, three medals from the European Championships and fifteen World Championships medals will now share her sporting experiences in a role of an assistant trainer.

“I recently joined the Federal Police Sports School Kienbaum as an assistant trainer for canoeing. I look forward to many new tasks and challenges. Above all, the canoeing can now be seen from the coach’s perspective and my ideas can be brought along,” wrote Carolin in her statement.
