Only 4 kilometres long course that ended below the famous Pont D’Arc with a bit of running towards the finish line was a new opening for Saturday’s traditional marathon challenge. It only took eight minutes and 38 seconds for French kayakers Cyrille Carre and Stephane Boulanger to reach the finish and record a win. They were just a second faster than Quentin Bonnetain and Etiene Hubert, while Adrian Martin Torres and David Rodriguez Dorado finished third. These three crews were the fastest overall and in the K2 standings.
Nicolas Lambert (FRA) was the winner of men’s K1 senior event, crossing the finish line two seconds faster than Slovenian Anže Urankar, and Paul Jean (FRA) was third. Ana Šteblaj (SLO) was the winner of women’s K1 event, where Clemence Hulpiau and Lisa Lebouc won second and third place respectively.
In the men’s K1 U18 event Belgian Tristan Meersmans won ahead of his teammate Lean Bogaerts and Slovenian Tjaš Til Kupsch. In women’s U18 race Eve Vitali-Gaubert, Anna Michaela Zednickova and Camille Desmerger occupied the top three positions, and in the C1 U18 event Matous Beier, Martin Gale and Vojtech Maly won the prizes.
The top three athletes in the MK1 U15 event were Alban Francois Siffert, Elouan Nogues and Robin Bauvignet and in WK1 U15 race Dora Milotova, Louise Bauvignet and Pavia Jilkova.
