Czech Republic dominated in team events of the 2019 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships 5.7.2019

The first sets of medals have been awarded at the 2019 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships in Liptovsky Mikulaš, Slovakia. It has been an excellent afternoon for the Czech team. Their team took the medals in every team race but one at the course in Liptovsky Mikulaš.


The first day of final decisions at the 2019 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships in Slovakia could not have been any better for the team of Czech Republic and their fans who came to support young athletes. In eight team races that were held in the afternoon part of the competition programme they won seven medals, two of them gold, four silver and one bronze.
 
 
Gold medals for Czech Republic were won by women's kayak teams in U23 and junior age groups. Amalie Hilgertova, this year's senior European K1 champion, Tereza Fišerova and Gabriela Satkova claimed the title in U23 category ahead of Slovakia and Germany. Women's junior team also took the gold medal thanks to Antonie Galuškova, Lucie Nesnidalova and Katerina Bekova. Teams from France and Slovakia joined them on the winners podium in women's junior K1 event.
 
 
Italian canoeists celebrated European Champion title in men's C1 U23 team race. Raffaello Ivaldi, Paolo Ceccon and Flavio Micozzi stood on the highest podium position, representatuves of Czech Republic were second and of Slovenia third.
 
 
Host nation celebrated gold medal in men's C1 race in junior category thanks to Ludovit Macus, Juraj Mraz and Juraj Dieska. Paddlers from Czech Republic were second and Germans third.
France celebrated two gold medals. The first was won in men's K1 U23 event. Mathurin Madore, Pol Oulhen and Malo Quemeneur were members of the golden team. Team from Austria was second and Czech team third.
 
 
Marjorie Delassus, Margaux Henry and Ella Bregazzi were crowned new European Champions in women's U23 C1 race. Team from Czech Republic was second and Slovakian paddlers were third.
 
 
German flag was raised the highest in men's junior K1 team race. Maximilian Dilli, Paul Bretzinger and Tillmann Roeller set the time no other team could beat. Slovakia was second and Spain third.
 
 
In the last team event of the championships - women's junior C1 race - Italian canoeists Marta Bertoncelli, Elena Borghi and Elena Micozzi celebrated the win ahead of Czech Republic and Slovakia.
