Bratislava, which will host the 2023 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships, welcomed young paddlers from Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia at the 2022 Olympic Hopes competition. In addition athletes from Sweden and Switzerland took part in the open category. Representatives of Czech Republic were the most successful on Saturday and Sunday.

Two races were organised on Saturday and Sunday with two runs on each day, and then the points of the two competition days were summed up to get the overall winners of the Olympic Hopes competition. The overall wins went to Slovakia, Slovenia and Czech Republic. The latter took all the overall wins, but five.
