At this ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup race, the first run of the day counted towards the overall standings. In the men’s canoe event, multiple-time World and European Championships medallist Ondrej Rolenc of the Czechia set the fastest time, followed by his fellow countrymen Matej Vanek and Matous Beier. The same ranking was repeated in the final run of the day.
In the women’s kayak, Klara Vankova took the European Cup win ahead of Anna Retkova and Marie Nemcova. A similar order was seen in the race final, which held extra significance for the Czech athletes as they were competing for spots on the senior national team this weekend. In the final, Klara Vankova again posted the best time, with Anna Retkova in second and Kristyna Novosadova taking third place.
The men’s kayak win of the European Cup went to Germany’s Finn Hartstein, who edged out Czech paddler Mikulaš Zapletal by a tenth of a second. Another German, Finn Vogler, took third place. However, the results shifted in the race final, where Jan Sindelar emerged victorious, followed by Vojtech Matejicek in second and Samuel Vejnar in third.
Jana Strilkova won the European Cup race in the women’s canoe event, with Pavla Jilkova and Anna Retkova close behind. In the race final, however, Strilkova placed third, as Anna Retkova and Marie Nemcova produced faster times in the second run of the day.
Matej Vanek and Karel Rasner topped the European Cup standings in the men’s canoe double event, followed by Matous Beier – Alva Beier and Pavel Safarik – Jachym Hanzel. In the race final, the best performance came from the duo Nemec and Vesely, with Vanek and Rasner finishing second, and Matous and Alva Beier taking third.
