Daniel Havel sold his glass trophies to support young athletes 8.4.2020

Czech paddler Daniel Havel decided to put on auction two glass trophies he received for his 2012 and 2016 Olympic medals (bronze in K4 1000m events) to raise funds for young athletes in Sezemice.


Daniel Havel, 28-year-old sprinter, was a member of K4 crew which picked up bronze medals at London and Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and for that he was given a special glass trophy of the Czech Olympic Committee. The 2012 Trophy was shaped like a torch and the 2016 trophy was called Medal in Motion and in the process of design former Biathlon World Champion Gabriela Koukalova took part in. The opening bid for each of the trophies was 4000 Czech Koruna (approx. 145 Euros) and at the end trophies were sold for 940 Euros.
 
 
 
This money will go to support the trainings of young athletes in Czech town of Sezemice, east of Prague.
