Darko Savić among the best Sportsmen in Bosnia and Herzegovina 19.12.2017

Bosnian kayaker Darko Savić, who competed at this year's wildwater canoeing as well as canoe sprint World Championships, is one of the best sportsmen in his country. 26-year-old paddler from Banja Luka has been named Sportsman of the year in Bosnia and Herzegovina in public voting.


Bosnian newspaper Nezavisne novine and Radio television Bosnia and Herzegovina have prepared annual Sportsman of the year awards and among the winners was also the best Bosnian kayaker Darko Savić. He received the most votes in public voting category and was named Sportsman of the year according to the readers of Nezavisne novine newspaper. He received more votes than any other candidate, including Miralem Pjanić (Juventus midfielder) and Edin Džeko (Roma forward).
 
“Well, it is not the main category of the Sportsman of the year awards, but I received an award of the public which makes me happy and is equally good,” said Savić for the European Canoe Association.
