Day 2 of the 2023 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships packed with action 8.9.2023

The second day of the 2023 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel brought 58 matches and the first semifinalists of the tournament in the U21 age groups. Germany, Spain, France and Netherlands will play in women's U21 semifinals, while Germany, Italy, Denmark and France will play in men's U21 semifinals.


The 2023 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships is in a full swing. A day full of action brought matches in senior and U21 age groups. Germany, the host nation, won in men's senior match with Netherlands (7-3) and concluded the match with Spain with a draw (2-2). Spain had another draw in a match with Switzerland that concluded with 3-3. We saw another draw in a match between France and Great Britain (2-2).
 
In senior women's tournament, Great Britain outplayed Netherlands 9-1. The best scorer of the match was Amira Konrad who scored three times. A match between Switzerland and Sweden ended with a total of 12 goals, Switzerland won 9-3. German team won two matches today. The won 3-1 against Spain and 4-2 against France. The match between Italy and Denmark ended with Italian win 4-1, while Spain won in a match against Switzerland (1-0).
 
In women's U21 part of the tournament we have already seen the quarterfinals. Germany beat Sweden 6-0 in a first quarterfinal of the day, France won in a match with Czechia 7-0, Spain was better than Italy (5-3) and Netherlands advanced to the semifinal after their 3-1 win against Great Britain. On Saturday, Germany and Spain will fight for the place in the final in the first semifinal, while the second semifinal pair is France - Netherlands.
 
In men's U21 tournament, the group stage 2 was taking place on day two of the European Championships. Germany and Denmark were at the top of the group E, France and Italy of the group F, and they will be playing in Saturday's semifinals to determine who will fight for the gold and who for the bronze medal. The other teams will be fighting for the placements between 5th and 16th place. Great Britain, Poland, Switzerland and Spain will be fighting for the positions 5-8, Belgium and Portugal will be playing for 9th place, Netherlands and Lithuania for 11th place, Austria and Czechia for 13th place and Sweden - Ireland will be fighting for 15th place.
 
On Saturday, the finals in women's and men's U21 age groups are scheduled for 16:15 (W) and 17:00 (M) local time.
