ECA Board of directors gives a greenlight for the 2021 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships 14.4.2021

Great news for all canoe slalom paddlers! The ECA's Board of Directors today decided that the organisation of the 2021 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships in Ivrea, Italy, is possible considering the current situation and the protocols that will be in place to ensure the safety of all participants.


The 2021 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships will take place between 6th and 9th May.
 
This will be the first major international canoeing competition in Europe this year. The 2021 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships will also serve as the European Continental qualification event for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
 
Within this Championships the first ever ECA Extreme Canoe Slalom European Championships will also be organised (more here).
 
The championships will kick off on Thursday, 6 May, with men's and women's K1 heats in the afternoon. On Friday morning women's and men's C1 heats are scheduled, while in the afternoon the first medallists of the championships will be known after the team events. On Saturday we will follow K1 semifinals and finals (men's and women's) as well as Extreme Canoe Slalom time trials. On Sunday, the championships will conclude with semifinals and finals in C1 (men's and women's) as well as with Extreme Slalom races.
