The awards ceremony of the best athletes of VŠC Dukla took place in the State Opera House in Banská Bystrica and Slovak canoeists were among the best in the awards ceremony. Ten most successful athletes in senior category, three in junior category and one award for the best coach were given than evening.
Mintalova won the awartd with a total of 493 points, and almost 100 points advantage over Marianna Jagerčikova (Ski mountaineering World Champion) and Petra Vlhova, alpine skier took third place.
“Because I already won the Olympics, it was emotional at the time and I enjoyed it a lot. I would like to prepare well for next year's Olympic Games in Paris and, above all, be in good health and give the best possible performance there, that is, reach the finals and attack the leading ranks. I also need to be lucky,” said Mintalova after accepting the award.
The best army coach was Peter Cibak Jr., the coach of Eliška Mintalova.
During the ceremony, two important personalities of canoe slalom were inducted into the Hall of Fame - coach Jozef Martikan, who together with his son Michal won five Olympic medals (2x gold, 2x silver, 1x bronze), and Elena Kaliska, two-time Olympic Champion in the K1 in 2004 and 2008.
