European canoe sprinters on the top of Super Cup in China 19.9.2019

After the Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships in Hungary and the Pre-Olympic test event in Japan, some of the best canoe sprinters travelled to China to take part in the special Super Cup competition which was held in Linyi.


In a tough and windy conditions European paddlers took the win in men’s and women’s kayak event and men’s canoe final at the special 300 metres long course. It was French kayaker Maxime Beaumont who set the fastest time in men’s K1 event ahead of his teammate Guillaume Burger who was 0.992 second behind, while Portuguese star Fernando Pimenta finished third 1.092 seconds behind.
 
In women’s K1 300 metres A final Linnea Stensils from Sweden stopped the clock at 1:09.381 to win the race in front of Lize Broekx from Belgium who was 1.443 seconds behind and Alyssa Bull from Australia was third (+1.574).
 
It was an all European podium in men’s C1 race. Vadim Korobov from Lithuania won the final with a time of 1:09.947, German canoeist Sebastian Brendel finished second only 0.343 seconds behind and Alfonso Benavides from Spain was third (+3.024).
 
The best European paddler in women’s C1 final was Liudmyla Luzan who was fourth in the 300 metres race. Katharine Vincent from Canada won in front of Chinese paddler Mengya Sun and American canoeist Nevin Harrison.
