Exciting Season Ahead - 2025 ECA Calendar Brings Action Across Europe 3.2.2025

The 2025 European Canoe Association (ECA) season promises to deliver another thrilling year of competition, with athletes from across Europe preparing to showcase their talent at a series of top-level international events. Beyond the European Championships, the ECA calendar features a wide range of Canoe Slalom, Wildwater Sprint Canoeing, Canoe Polo, Canoe Marathon and Canoe Freestyle competitions, along with major youth events that will highlight the next generation of paddling stars.


ECA Canoe Slalom European Cup
 
The ECA Canoe Slalom European Cup will once again attract the continent’s best paddlers to some of Europe’s most iconic venues. The 2025 series will kick off in Pau, France (8–9 March), followed by La Seu d’Urgell, Spain (15–16 March).
 
Races will continue in Markkleeberg, Germany (11–13 April), Kraków, Poland (18 April), and Ljubljana–Tacen, Slovenia (25–27 April), before heading to Ivrea, Italy (1–4 May). After the summer break, the action will resume in Bratislava, Slovakia (1–3 August), before concluding with two late-summer events in Prague, Czechia (15–17 August) and Épinal, France (22–24 August).
 
ECA Junior Canoe Slalom European Cup
 
The future stars of European canoe slalom will take centre stage in the ECA Junior Canoe Slalom European Cup, offering valuable experience for young athletes. The 2025 series will begin in Solkan, Slovenia (7–8 June), continuing through Valstagna (14–15 June) and Ivrea (21–22 June) in Italy, and Flattach, Austria (28–29 June).
 
The summer leg includes Augsburg, Germany (5–6 July), Roudnice, Czechia (19–20 July), Kraków, Poland (25–27 July), and the final race weekend in Bratislava, Slovakia (9–10 August).
 
ECA Canoe Polo European Cups
 
The Canoe Polo European Cup series will feature two major events in 2025, gathering Europe’s best teams for intense and tactical water battles. The first tournament will take place in Pfyn, Switzerland (24–25 May), followed by Avranches, France (21–22 June).
 
ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup
 
This year’s ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup brings a series with nine events across the continent, offering an exciting mix of natural rivers and artificial courses.
 
The season will open in Fulda, Germany (15 March), followed by Veles, North Macedonia (6 April), Špindlerův Mlýn, Czechia (19–20 April), Augsburg, Germany (3–4 May), České Budějovice, Czechia (10–11 May), and Diekirch, Luxembourg/Germany (17 May).
 
The competition will then move to Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham, Great Britain (14 June), Lipno, Czechia (23–24 August), and conclude with a late-season finale on the River Dee in Llangollen, Great Britain (22 November).
 
ECA Canoe Marathon Clubs European Cup
 
Marathon specialists will gather in Rheine, Germany (5–6 April) for the ECA Canoe Marathon Clubs European Cup, a challenging test of endurance, tactics and teamwork on long-distance courses.
 
ECA Canoe Freestyle European Cup
 
The thrill of freestyle canoeing will be on full display in Millau, France (28–29 June), where Europe’s best paddlers will compete in the ECA Canoe Freestyle European Cup. Spectators can expect powerful tricks, aerial moves, and creative routines.
 
Youth Focus: European Youth Olympic Festival & Olympic Hopes
 
The younger generation will also have their moment to shine in two key international events. The European Youth Olympic Festival will take place in Skopje, North Macedonia (21–24 July), featuring canoe slalom.
 
Later in the season, future canoe sprint stars will gather for the world-famous Olympic Hopes regatta in Račice, Czechia (18–21 September) — a stepping stone event for many athletes on their way to senior international success.
 
A Season Full of Promise
 
From the adrenaline of slalom rapids to the speed of canoe sprint and the precision of canoe polo, the 2025 ECA competition calendar promises an unforgettable year for both athletes and fans. With classic venues returning and new locations making their way into the calendar, the stage is set for another spectacular season of European paddlesport.
