The 2025 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships will take place this week in Avranches, France. The Opening ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday late afternoon, while the championships matches will be played over four competition days, from Thursday until Sunday.
The organisers of the upcoming 2025 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships (11 – 14 September) jumped in last minute after the withdrawal of Poland earlier this year to prepare one of the canoe polo highlights of the season 2025. “Although the preparation time is extremely short, just three months instead of the usual two to four years), the Canoë-Club of Avranches and its partners are fully committed to providing athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators with the best possible conditions both on and off the water, to ensure this prestigious competition becomes a memorable experience for all,” the organiser say before the tournament.
The tournament will welcome around 400 athletes from 15 nations competing in men’s and women’s senior events and men’s and women’s U21 events. The teams competing this week are coming from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and host nation France.
The matches will be played on four pitches from Thursday to Sunday, with medal matches scheduled for Sunday, and will be streamed live on Canoe Europe Youtube Channel.
The Avranches is well-known venue of canoe polo tournaments, this June they already hosted the ECA Canoe Polo European Cup tournament.
