Germany shows no mercy

The Canoe Polo tournament of the World Games which are held this week in Wroclaw, Poland, brought 21 matches during the first day; 12 in women’s part of the tournament and 9 in men’s. Tomorrow is the second day of preliminary rounds and on Sunday we will see the semi-finals and finals both in women’s and men’s tournament. 


German women’s team dominated the first day of competition in Wroclaw’s Orbita swimming pool. They have been unstoppable in a match against Poland, where Germany won 12-1. German ladies also won matches against Canada, Netherlands and Italy to keep their record 100%. French women’s team was also successful with three wins in matches against Poland, Italy and Netherlands. They played 2-2 against New Zealand.
 
In men’s part of the tournament Spain and Germany finished the day with 100% success rate. Spain won all three matches they played today against Poland, New Zealand and Italy. Spanish team members Angel and Alejandro Gordon Herrero were unsolvable puzzle for their opponents today. Spain scored 14-times in today’s three matches, and Gordon Herreros scored 11-times!
 
German team, who is a defending champion, was also successful in both of their today’s matches. They beat France 5-3 and Italy 4-1.
