Over five competition days great excitement and amazing atmosphere was seen in Duisburg at the 2023 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. The competition was even more important as this was the global qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and European paddlers once again showed they are the best.
Germany and Spain topped the medals table with a total of 14 and 13 medals. Hungarian paddlers won ten medals, but had two gold medals, so they were ranked sixth on the medals table, in front of them were representatives of Canada, China and New Zealand, with three gold medals each. In the top ten at the medals table we can also find Portugal, Denmark and Poland. Altogether 21 countries won medals at this World Championships, 14 of them were European.
