The “Muglwave” in Graz, Austria, will be the home of the best European canoe freestylers over the next four competition days. From Wednesday until Saturday more than 120 athletes from 14 European countries will fight for the European Champion titles in senior and junior kayak events, and senior men’s and women’s canoe.

 

Both men’s and women’s senior European Champions from the season 2021 will be defending their titles from Vaires-sur-Marne, home of the 2024 Olympic Games. Otillie Robison-Shaw from Great Britain and Tom Dolle from France were the ones celebrating gold medals in the last edition of the ECA Canoe Freestyle European Championships.

 

On Wednesday the preliminary round is scheduled in women’s and men’s senior kayak event as well as in men’s junior kayak event. On Thursday, preliminary round in women’s junior kayak event is on the programme, as well as senior men’s and women’s kayak quarterfinals. On Friday, we will see semifinals in all six events (men’s and women’s junior and senior kayak, men’s and women’s senior canoe), and on Saturday the 2024 ECA Canoe Freestyle European Championships will conclude with finals.  

 

The participating countries are Great Britain, Germany, Poland, France, Ireland, Spain, Czechia, Slovakia, Italy, Finland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and host Austria.
