Hungarian Canoeing mourns the death of Krisztián Veréb 26.10.2020

Hungarian canoeing mourns the death of Krisztián Veréb, 2000 Olympic Games bronze medallist, who passed away at the age of 43 following the tragic motorcycle accident.


Krisztián Veréb started his sporting career in Miskolc, but later defended the colours of Budapest clubs Csepel SC and Budapest Honvéd.
 
His greatest sporting success was bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney in K2 1000 metres together with Krisztián Bártfai. In addition, he won two silver medals at European Championships (2000 Poznan - K2 1000m; 2001 Milan - K2 500m), as well as two silver medals (2001 Poznan - K2 1000m, 2003 Gainesville - K4 1000m) and two bronze medals at World Championships (1998 Szeged - K2 1000m, 2002 Seville - K2 1000m).
