Hungarian sprinter Milan Mozgi banned for four years

Hungarian sprinter Milan Mozgi banned for four years 1.12.2018

20-year-old Hungarian canoe sprinter Milan Mozgi has been given a four-year ban after he tested positive for the prohibited substance erythropoietin. He tested positive to synthetic erythropoietin, or EPO, following a test carried out on June 26 this year, and Hungarian Anti-Doping Group handed down a four year sanction.

Milan Mozgi won two European Champion titles. He was a member of K4 500 metres crew at European Championships in 2017 in Plovdiv, and won his second gold medal at European Championships in K2 500 metres event in Belgrade. He failed a doping test on June 26th and his suspension has been backdated to 7th August. This means he will keep his medals as the championships took place in early June. He will not be able to return to competitions until August 2022.
