Szolnok, Hungary, was the venue of this year's FISU Canoe Sprint World University Championships that attracted athletes from 21 countries. Most of the competitors came from Europe, but there were athletes from Australia, Canada, Japan, China, India and Mexico on the start line too. The most successful were Hungarian and Belarus teams, each winning 20 medals or more in the 28 events that were organised this end of the week. Besides them athletes from Poland, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Great Britain, France, Australia and Japan also reached the winner’s podium.
