Italian Canoeing mourns the death of Vittorio Cirini 23.11.2023

Italian Canoeing has lost one of the prominent people in the sport, Vittorio Cirini, who passed away this November. He was a long-time Vice President of the Italian Kayak and Canoe Federation.

Vittorio Cirini was a former athlete and long-time manager. From 1988 to 1998 he was President of the Canottieri Adda Lodi; for 15 years he held the position of Vice President of Italian Canoe and Kayak Federation, and was a chairman of the ICF wildwater canoeing committee and international technical official for many years.

The message of condolences from President of the Italian federation Luciano Buonfiglio: “Italian canoeing is losing a great friend, but above all a passionate manager, a man who played a fundamental role in the development and growth of our sport. Vittorio represented a founding pillar, a person who gave impetus to our world, distinguishing himself both for his managerial and human qualities. With this brief greeting we want to extend heartfelt condolences to the family and to the Adda Lodi Rowing Society, on behalf of the entire Federation.”

We would like to express sincere condolences to his family and friends. Vittorio, rest in peace.
