Ivrea, venue of the 2021 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships, hosted this year's Italian canoe slalom national championships. Giovanni de Gennaro, Stefanie Horn, Raffaello Ivaldi and Marta Bertoncelli claimed national champion titles on the Dora Baltea River.
In men's kayak final, it was Giovanni de Gennaro who produced the best time to win the title ahead of Jakob Weger and Christian De Dionigi. Zeno Ivaldi, who was also considered one of the favourites for the medal had to pull out of the competition due to back injury.
A penalty free run brought gold medal to Raffaello Ivaldi in men's canoe event, where Paolo Ceccon took silver and Flavio Micozzi bronze medal.
Stefanie Horn was the fastest in women's K1 final despite picking up two penalty seconds. Marta Bertoncelli finished the race in second place and Maria Clara Giai Pron was third.
Bertoncelli won her second medal of the national championships in C1 event, where she was unbeatable. She was 0.98 seconds ahead of Chiara Sabattini in second place, while Elena Micozzi won bronze medal.
Flavio and Elena Micozzi won national champions title in C2 mixed event, while Matteo Cerrano and Simone Marchegiano were the best in men's C2 race.
In extreme canoe slalom race Lorand Gjoshi celebrated national champion title ahead of Valerio Pistoni and David Ghisetti, while in women's part of the race Agata Spagnol won ahead of Erica Piatti and Lucia Pistoni.
