Jiri Prskavec Czech wildwater paddler of the year 4.12.2018

Czech Canoe Union has already awarded the best athletes of their federation in a combined ceremony for wildwater and flaterwater paddlers, but now the wildwater section recognised their stars in a separate ceremony. Jiri Prskavec won the prestigious wildwater paddler of the year title in front of Martina Satkova.

 


One of the best canoe slalom paddlers in the world Jiri Prskavec added another trophy to his collection. He was named Czech wildwater paddler of the year in a ceremony that was held in Olomouc. Overall winner of this year’s canoe slalom world cup series and silver medallist of the World Championships received more points than second placed Martina Satkova, who had an excellent season in wildwater canoeing winning four gold, a silver and a bronze medal at World Championships in Switzerland. Vit Prindiš finished third in overall standings of Czech wildwater paddler of the year.
 
 
 
In a senior canoe slalom standings Jiri Prskavec won in front of Vit Prindiš and C2 crew Jonaš Kašpar – Marek Šindler, while in junior category Jan Barta, Gabriela Satkova and Tomaš Zima occupied the top three positions.
 
In a wildwater canoeing standings Martina Satkova received the most points, with Ondrej Rolenc and Marek Rygel sharing the ‘podium’ with her. In junior category Barbora Dimovova won in front of Filip Janu and Karolina Paloudova.
 
Jiri Rohan, former C2 paddler, Olympic medallist, coach and technical director of this year’s ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships in Prague, was introduced to the hall of fame.
