Jiri Prskavec king of Czech Wildwater 4.1.2024

Czech canoe slalom and wildwater canoeing paddlers are at the very top in world class competition, with many of their athletes winning the medals at major international sporting events. In 2023, again they dominated at World and European Championships and at World Cup races, but there was only a place for one king. This was Jiri Prskavec, reigning European Champion and vice-World Champion, who received a title King of Wildwater 2023.


The poll, in which officials, coaches, judges, sports journalists, representatives of wildwater section of Czech federation and competitors themselves voted for the best, concluded with confident win of Jiri Prskavec, who became a King of Wildwater with a total of 219 points, while Vit Prindiš in second place received 156 points and Marie Nemcova was third with 70 points.
 
"I value the trophy very much and I am very happy that I managed to win this year. The season was really great and I'm grateful for how it went. It is always very nice to meet friends like this after the season, to talk, to absorb the atmosphere that we have, for example, during the Czech races, but then we don't see each other again for half a year. This is such a nice meeting and opportunity for us to see each other again. This is also the reason why I always like to go to Olomouc," added the 30-year-old paddler, who, thanks to this year's great performances, already secured himself a place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
 
Prskavec, Prindis and Nemcova won the top three places in overall poll, however, here are the results by categories.
