Krakow will turn into canoe slalom capital this week

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games have come to an end and it is time for next canoeing competitions. Krakow will turn into canoe slalom capital this week as it hosts the 2024 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships between Wednesday and Sunday.


Young canoe slalom paddlers from 28 European countries will compete at the upcoming 2024 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships in Krakow, Poland. Despite being the competition of the future canoe slalom stars, there are many already established names on the list of participating athletes, including Paris 2024 Olympians Marta Bertoncelli and men’s kayak bronze medallist Pau Echaniz. 2024 Senior European Champion in men’s canoe and reigning Junior World Champion in canoe and kayak Ziga Lin Hocevar from Slovenia will be the one to watch in all events, as he will try to repeat his success from early July and Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom World Championships which was held south of Krakow in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia.
 
Not to miss are the French athletes Martin Cornu, Anatole Delassus, Leo Vuitton, Emma Vuitton, Mewen Debliquy, Yohann Senechault, Doriane Delassus, Titouan Estanguet, Italian Xabier Ferrazzi, Czech representatives Tereza Kneblova, Klara Kneblova, Jakub Krejci, Olga Samkova, Martin and Lukas Kratochvil, Lucie Nesnidalova, Katerina Bekova, Germans Paulina Pirro, Emily Apel, British Jonny Dickson, Ben Haylett, Sam and Lois Leaver, Polish Dominika Brzeszka, Szymon Nowobilski and others, Slovenians Naja Pinteric, Nejc Polencic, Eva Alina Hocevar, Slovaks Ivana Chlebova, Emanuela Luknarova, and many more.
 
The 2024 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships will kick off on Wednesday with Opening Ceremony. The first races are on the programme on Thursday when Junior and U23 paddlers will compete in men’s and women’s kayak heats and team events in previously mentioned categories. On Friday, the day will start with Junior and U23 Canoe heats (men’s and women’s), team events in these categories as well as kayak cross individual events. Saturday brings the semifinal and final in men’s and women’s junior and U23 kayak. On Sunday, the championships will conclude with semifinal and final runs in men’s and women’s canoe (junior and U23) and kayak cross elimination phase.
