Another sad news comes from Poland. Former canoe sprinter Marek Wisła died on January 29^th. Marek Wisła competed in the late 1970s and in the 1980s and was also an Olympian. In 1980 he competed at the Moscow Olympic Games and finished in fourth place in men’s C2 500 metres event together with Jerzy Dunajski. He was also a multiple Polish national champion in men’s C1 500 and 1000 metres events (1976, 1978, 1980, 1983, 1985).
