Overall Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup wins to France, Czechia, Croatia and North Macedonia 5.9.2023

Races in five countries have been held in the 2023 season of the ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup series. The overall wins were won by athletes from France, Czechia, Serbia, Croatia and North Macedonia.

 


French kayaker Raphael Bonnard concluded the 2023 ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup season with a total of 269 points and an overall win in men's senior kayak event. Bonnard missed the first two ECA cups of the season, organised in North Macedonia and Slovenia, but competed well in Switzerland, Italy and Czechia, which brought him the overall win. Two representatives of North Macedonia Aleksandar Zlatarov and Ljubomir Spasikj were second and third respectively, starting in the first three races of the season (in Skopje, Osilnica and Dallenwil).
 
Czech kayaker Kristina Novosadova was the overall winner of the women's kayak competition at the ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup. She finished the race series with 93 points, while Hannah Mueller from Switzerland gathered 82 points with her performances in Dallenwill and Česke Budejovice. Alexandra Plachtova (CZE) was third with 72 points.
 
Serbian canoeist Pavle Zdravkovic competed in Skopje, Osilnica and Česke Budejovice and with a total of 125 points he won the overall standing in men's canoe event. Croatian paddler Tomislav Hohnjec was second in the overall standings and French representative Etienne Klatt third (86 points).
 
Marie Nemcova (CZE), who had an amazing season with European and World Champion titles in kayak, concluded the season in style. She won the overall ECA cup standings in canoe, by collecting 50 points. Her teammates Zuzana Dziadkova and Valentyna Kočirova were second and third respectively, with 46 and 43 points.
 
Croatian duo Tomislav Hohnjec and Janko Presecki were the best in men's C2 event of the ECA cup series, with a total of 96 points. Serbians Zdravković - Krumov were second (89 points), while Martin Novak - Antonin Haleš (CZE) , Nejc Gradišek - Martin Gale (SLO) and Federico Fasoli - Vladi Carlo Panato (ITA) all had 50 points.
 
The ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing Cup series was also held for juniors. In this age group, young Kristijan Lazarov and Blagoj Guginov won first and second place for North Macedonia, while Czech kayaker Jakub Franz finished third.
