The first race of the weekend was organised today in U16 and U18 age groups in men’s and women’s kayak and canoe.
Martino Barzon from Italy produced the fastest time in men’s C1 U16 event, finishing the race ahead of Austrian Timo Haslmaier and Czech canoeist Michal Urban. In U18 age group Juraj Dieška from Slovakia took the win in men’s canoe ahead of French paddler Thomas L’Huillier and Slovak Juraj Mraz.
Ivana Chlebova from Slovakia won in women’s kayak U16 event. Sara Belingar from Slovenia was second and Ivana Kloboučkova from Czech Republic third. Zala Zanoškarfrom Slovenia was the best in women’s U18 event, Barbora Karlikova and Lucie Nesnidalova from Czech Republic were second and third.
In both men’s kayak events it was a win for Slovakia. Ilja Buran was the fastest in U16 age group, followed by two Czech paddlers Jakub Mrazek and Martin Rudolfer, while Matoš Štaffen won in U18 group ahead of Italian Tommaso Barzon and Slovak representative Matej Blaščik.
Ivana Chlebova (SVK) was the fastest in women’s U16 canoe race, Ivana Kloboučkova from Czech Republic finished second and Louise Fernie from Great Britain third. Mahuliena Durecova from Slovakia was the best in women’s C1 U18 event, Daisy Cooil from Great Britain was second and Katja Bengeri from Croatia third.
The last race in this year’s ECA Junior Canoe Slalom Cup series will be organised on Sunday in Bratislava.
