Polish team trained in Italy, next stop Zakopane

Polish team trained in Italy, next stop Zakopane 25.12.2022

Polish women’s K4 sprint crew is regarded one of the strongest in the world, regardless who is sitting in the boat. In preparation for a new season they went for a training camp in Italy.

It was a winter training camp in Livigno, Italy, and Polish kayakers spent three weeks there, enjoying the Alps. Girls, among them Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk, Dominika Putto, Helena Wiśniewska, Sandra Ostrowska,  Julia Górska and Weronika Marczewska, were focusing on endurance training with cross-country skiing or mountain climbing. Not only this, they also went swimming the freezing cold water.

“The training camp in Livigno is a very specific training camp. You have to be very careful with your training from the very beginning. Training in hypoxia, i.e. you cannot move from a thick pipe, only these loads increase with the week. We're back, we're resting, we're happy,” said Putto.

Her teammate Helena Wisniewska added: “From 1 January, we start with another training camp. It will be in Zakopane. Another heavy training, which will be associated with a lot of cross-country skiing, running, gym training. Just hard work.”

This training camp will last for two weeks.
