Roi Rodriguez helps fight coronavirus with his 3D printer

Roi Rodriguez helps fight coronavirus with his 3D printer 10.4.2020

Spanish canoe sprinter Roi Rodiguez is one of many who help fight coronavirus pandemic with his knowledge. 25-year-old paddler, born in Vigo, decided to join a project coronavirusmakers@org and helps medical personnel by making part of their protective gear.

Rodriguez, European Championships medallist, holds a degree in computer engineering and is passionate about 3D printing to such extent that he owns a 3D printer. Now he helps fight the pandemic by printing visors. “I just saw I could contribute a part. It takes almost two hours for the 3D printer to make a visor, so I do seven daily because I stop at night. The only thing that worries me now is that I am running out of a roll of synthetic thread string, so cannot print,” said Roi.  The further works on visors are done by other people and distributed to hospitals.
