The event with most participating national teams was 10-seater senior mix 200 metres race where the team of Russia won the European Champion title in front of French crew who picked up silver medal. German representatives won bronze medal.
In the 10-seater senior men 200 metres race gold medals also stayed in Russia thanks to their strong team which crossed the finish line in front of Romania and Hungary. In women's senior 10-seater race Russia won, Germany was second and Moldova third.
Paddlers from Russia were also unbeatable in junior events. Russian 10-seaters were the fastest in men's, women's and mixed 200 metres races. In all three categories Moldova finished second and Armenia third.
There were also organised master events in 40+ and 50+ age groups. In mixed master 40+ category Russian crew won gold medal, Germany finished second and Hungary third. In women's masters 40+ there was the same order, with Russia on the top, followed by Germany and Hungary.
The only non-Russian win in nation's part of the competition was in women's 10-seater masters 50+ category. It was Hungarian boat that managed to produce a faster run than Russians. In the master's mixed 10-seater Russia won the race in front of Germany.
Together with nations competition athletes are also competing for club titles. Alltogether 28 clubs from four countries are fighting for the European Cup titles in club events.
On Friday the competition will continue with 20-seater 200 metres races in the morning part of the programme and 10-seater races in the 2000 metres events in the afternoon.
