The road to Tokyo is still long. Competitors need first to fight for Olympic quotas at 2019 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Szeged, or next year at Continental qualifiers or second World Cup race. The next step is then of course getting the place in the Spanish team, where qualifying into the canoeing team with so many great athletes is anything but easy.

 

“For any athlete who feels Spanish to the core as me, this is something incredible. This is the dream I still need to fulfil,” said Craviotto who reached big fame in Spain after he won in the MasterChef celebrity reality show. But he is much aware of tough competition for Olympic spots, “The fact that there are five of six paddlers inside half a second is good, this competition makes us better.”
