The 2020 Senior Canoe Slalom European champion Gabriela Satkova and medallists Tereza Fišerova, Amalie Hilgertova and Vaclav Chaloupka as well as the 2019 Senior World Champion Andrea Herzog will be the biggest names fighting for the U23 European Champion titles this weekend in Poland.
Host nation will expect a lot from Klaudia Zwolinska, Kacper Sztuba and Krzysztof Majerczak to name only a few of their hopes. Italia will have Raffaello Ivaldi and Jakob Weger on the start, Germany Elena Apel, Selina Jones and Thomas Strauss, Slovenia Niko Testen and Nejc Polenčič, Austria Felix Oschmautz and Mario Leitner, while Andorra will be represented by Monica Doria Vilarrubla to point out some of the athletes with medals in junior categories and/or experiences at senior level competitions.
The European Championships will be closed for general public and the entry to the venue will be allowed only to accredited persons to ensure the safety of all the participants.
On Thursday the Championships will kick off with heats in junior and U23 women's kayak and men's canoe events. Friday will bring women's canoe and men's kayak heats in junior and U23 categories in the morning part of the programme, while first sets of medals will be awarded to the best teams in the afternoon.
On Saturday semifinal and final runs in men's canoe and women's kayak will be held, while on Sunday the championships will close with semifinal and final runs in women's canoe and men's kayak.
Participating nations: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Sweden, Ukraine.
