He won all individual races in the 200, 500 and 1000 metres, and repeated success at the same distances in C2 together with his brother Petr. In addition Martin and Petr also competed in C4 with Flip Dvorak and Antonin Zalubil for another gold medal.
“It was a nice championship and I am glad that I was able to repeat it after two years. Two years ago I was more squeezed, now I would like to have something else. The program was challenging and I'm glad it worked out. And also, that in the end I could enjoy a fast ride on a four-kneeler, that was great,” said Fuksa.
Petr Fuksa, Josef Dostal and Anežka Paloduova each concluded National Championships with a total of four gold medals. Dostal won gold medal in all individual events and in K4 together with Radek Šlouf, Jan Vorl and Vilem Kukačka. Excellent whitewater paddler Anežka Paloudova paddled successfuly also in sprint competition, despite the fact she still does not feel exactly at home in this discipline: “The sprint is not my own at all, I still can't paddle it exactly as I would have imagined. I got up in the morning saying that I was a little sick, so I was very worried about how I would actually paddle it. But I started and felt that there was strength and that I would be able to fight with my opponents. By the end, I was running out of energy a lot and I'm glad that the track wasn't two hundred and ten meters, because I'm not sure I could stand it.”
Jana Ježova won two gold medals, one in C1 200 metres event and the second in C2 with Denisa Rahova.
