Silver medal for Elena Lilik 31.7.2024

German canoeist Elena Lilik won silver medal in exciting women’s canoe final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Australian Jessica Fox won gold and became the most successful canoe slalom paddler in Olympic history.

German canoe slalom paddler Elena Lilik celebrated silver medal in women’s canoe final, stopping the clock at 103.54, and finishing behind only Australian Jessica Fox (101.06).

“It feels unreal and super exciting. The crowd was crazy. There were so many Germans here screaming my name, I got goosebumps. I was so happy with my run and so proud. I just went for it and had no fear. All of those emotions came out at the finish line,” said Lilik, 2021 World Champion and the 2023 European Games champion.

Jessica Fox wrote history by winning her second gold medal of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games making her the only athlete so far to win two gold medals at one Olympic Games. She also matched France’s Tony Estanguet with three Olympic gold medals, and passed Slovak Michal Martikan, who won five Olympic medals. Fox now has six Olympic medals in her possession.

Bronze medal went to Evy Leibfarth (USA).

Tomorrow brings the men’s kayak semifinal and final.
