The canoe slalom venue in Krakow which hosted many international events of the highest level, including Senior, Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships, Junior and U23 World Championships and World Cup events, this weekend welcomed future stars of canoeing. Young canoe slalom paddlers competed in the penultimate event of this year’s ECA Junior Canoe Slalom Cup.
There were supposed to be two qualification runs and two final runs held on the course on Saturday and Sunday in Krakow, but severe storm coming after very high temperatures that were making racing conditions difficult cut short Sunday’s competition programme. The organisers decided to stop the competition after Sunday’s heats because of safety concerns. The overall standings of the weekend were then calculated based on Saturday’s final and Sunday’s heats results.
