After the very successful start of the championships in individual classic events, France won another gold medal in men's C1 classic team event. Theo Viens and Charles Ferrion, who were crowned European Champion and European Vice Champion on Wednesday in individual event, joined forces with Nicolas Sauteur to claim Classic Team European Champion title. The French trio concluded the course in ten minutes, 52 seconds and 49 hundredths of a second, eight and a half seconds faster than second placed team from Germany with Normen Weber, Tim Heilinger and Moritz Lipperheide. Czech paddlers Matous Beier, Matej Vanek and Adam Ondrich won bronze medal.
Sophia Schmidt, Marlene Wesseling and Lisa Koestle from Germany were the fastest in women's kayak classic team race. They concluded the three and a half kilometres long course in 10:35.66. Lise Vinet, Mathilde Valdenaire and Lisa Lebouc from France were seven and a half seconds behind to win silver medal. Italians Mathilde Serena Rosa, Maya Bagnato and Giulia Formenton crossed the finish line in third position.
In the last classic team event of the day Slovenian kayakers Simon Oven, Nejc Žnidarčič and Anže Urankar repeated a success from six years ago when Skopje also hosted the Senior Wildwater Canoeing European Championships. In 2017 the classic race was held on the Vardar River, and now Slovenians showed power on the Treska River. It was a tight race and fight for the European Champion title. Belgian trio Leo Montulet, Joren Bogaerts and Kilian Meersmans finished the race in second place, 2.39 seconds behind, while Czech kayakers Adam Satke, Jan Šindelar and Filip Novak were third.
Today, Masters races were on the programme in the second part, but were non-official European Championships events. German paddler David Piaskowski was the fastest in men's 35+ age group, followed by Ljubomir Spasikj from North Macedonia and Sreten Biljić from Serbia. Kamil Mružek (CZE), Hans Meersmans (BEL) and Jamie Christie (GBR) were top three in the 45+ age group, Gilles Calliet (GER), Neil Blackman (GBR) and Djordje Mihajlović (SLO) were on the podium in 55+ age group, while the medals in 65+ age group went to Wolfgang Birck (GER) who was the fastest, Marjan Zgonc (SLO) in second place, and to Miroslav Matušik (SVK) and Ilija Mladenovski (MKD) who shared the third position.
