The best canoe sprinters of the season 2018 are known 13.10.2018

At the end of the season 2018 and after the canoe sprint and paracanoe World Championships the International Canoe Federation released the 2018 World Cup standings. European paddlers were on the top in all but one category. Winner of women’s kayak event is Linnea Stensils from Sweden. Evgenii Lukantsov from Russia is winner of men’s kayak category and Martin Fuksa from Czech Republic celebrated the overall win in men’s canoe. The best nation in team events is Germany.


The overall standings were made based on the results in the finals A of the Olympic events at two World Cup races (Szeged and Duisburg) and World Championships in Montemor-o-Velho. In women’s category K1 200 and 500 meters events were taken into consideration, in men’s kayak event final results in K1 200 and 1000 metres events counted for the standings and in men’s canoe the 1000 metres event was the one that was taken into account. In the team events the following events counted: K4M 500m, K2M 1000m, C2W 500m, K2W 500m, K4W 500m and C2M 1000m.
