The last semifinalists of the 2019 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships are known 5.7.2019

The last individual heats of the 2019 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships are over and all the semifinalists for Saturday's and Sunday's races are known. On Friday competitors fought for the semifinal places in women's canoe and men's kayak events in junior and U23 age groups. Zoe Jakob from Germany, Mathurin Madore from France, Gabriela Satkova and Jakub Krejci (both from Czech Republic) were the fastest in their respective heats.


German canoeist Zoe Jakob produced the best time in women's U23 canoe heats, finishing the course 0.74 seconds ahead of French representative Marjorie Delassus and Czech paddler Tereza Fišerova who was third.
 
In men's U23 kayak heats Mathurin Madore from France won today's race ahead of local favourite and 2016 Olympian Jakub Grigar, while Austrian kayaker Mario Leitner crossed the finish line with third best time of the day.
 
It was a double win of the day for Czech Republic in women's junior canoe heats. Gabriela Satkova and Tereza Kneblova finished the race in positions one and two, while Bethan Forrow from Great Britain produced the third fastest time in this event.  
 
The last individual heats of the championships were men's junior kayak heats. Jakub Krejci from Czech Republic was the fastest, Matej Blascik from Slovakia finished second and Lan Tominc from Slovenia third.  
 
Today's competition programme continues with team races.
