The start-lists for the final day of competition are completed 23.6.2023

After a lot of excitement throughout the third day of competition in Canoe Sprint at the Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games, and the six medal events, the day continued with eight semifinals which completed the start-list for the remaining finals to be held on the final day of European Championships.


The last three spots in the C1 500 metres final were won by Adrien Bart (FRA), Balazs Adolf (HUN) and Nicolae Craciun (ITA) who all finished within 0.332 seconds. The C1 500 metres final will be held on Saturday at 12:57.
 
After winning the silver medal in K1 200 metres earlier on in the day, Milica Novakovic from Serbia secured her second final of the competition by coming in second in the K1 500 semifinal behind Anamaria Govorcinovic (CRO), and in front of Joana Vasconcelos (POR). The remaining three places in the final were secured by Melina Andersson (SWE), Pauline Jagsch (GER) and Anezka Paloudova (CZE). Women’s K1 500 metres final is set for Saturday at 12:30.
 
The men’s semifinals also offered places in the final for the first three paddlers in two races. One of the most decorated athletes in longer distances, Portuguese Fernando Pimenta won his semifinal in front of Timon Maurer (AUT) and Martin Nathell (SWE). The start-list for the Saturday’s final which starts at 12:39, was completed by Jakub Spicar (CZE), Gunnar Eide (NOR) and Przemyslaw Korsak (POL).
 
Day three was completed in rainy conditions in which the semifinals in mixed events were held.
 
Emma Jorgensen (DEN) secured another final at the Games by qualifying for the mixed K2 200 metres final together with Magnus Sibbersen (DEN). The other two places in the final from their race were taken by Latvians (Malanija Camane, Karlis Dumpis) and Italians (Cristina Petracca, Alessandro Gnecchi). The remaining three spots from the other semifinal were secured by the German boat (Lena Roehlings, Jacob Schopf) who crossed the finish-line in front of Carlos Garrote and Isabel Contreras from Spain and the Hungarian duo Anna Lucz and Bence Vajda. The mixed K2 200 metres final will be held on Saturday at 14:44.
 
In the mixed C2 200 metres three final spots were taken by Ukranians (Vitaliy Vergeles, Valeriia Tereta), Portugese (Helder Silva, Ines Penetra) and the French crew (Chloe Nicot, Lucas Laroche). The Mixed Canadian Double final will be the final race of this year’s European Championships at 14:53.

European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023 is the Europe’s biggest multidisciplinary sporting event in 2023. More than 7 thousand athletes are competing in 26 sports and 29 disciplines for 253 gold medals. More than that, European Games 2023 are part of the qualification process for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 in 19 sports. This great celebration of sports started on 21st of June. The closing ceremony will take place on July 2nd.
